Mindfulness meditation offers a way to break through habitual patterns of mind that create suffering for ourselves and others. In this one-day, interactive workshop, you will learn a variety of techniques for coming into presence with just what is, here and now: without judgment, delusion, projection, or reaction. Through these techniques, we can begin to pave a path to greater happiness and deeper connection with others. We will also touch on what the latest science tells us about why these techniques work.
Topics explored will include:
Mindfulness of breath and body
Mindfulness of thoughts and emotions
Self-compassion and loving-kindness
Establishing a daily practice
Both absolute beginners and those seeking to deepen their practice are welcome. Meditation mats, cushions, and chairs will be provided.
After the workshop, all are welcome to join fellow classmates to dine at a restaurant within walking distance (optional).
