Create a grounded presence which flows naturally into a meditative state with Emily from the Center for Mindful Living. By moving with awareness and focusing on the breath, you can release tension and activate energy that enhances your Meditation. The class will include 6 movements of the spine, a breathing exercise to center, and a walking meditation. There will also be a brief guided meditation.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow or blanket and mat to sit on. All levels of skill are welcome. Some chairs will be available for those who prefer to meditate on a chair.
Cost $10 – all proceeds support programming and maintenance of the park by the Friends of Fessenden Park. The all-volunteer Friends of Fessenden Park is a committee of Tenleytown Main Street that seeks to revitalize the park as a community gathering place for all ages.

Low-impact fitness classes every Saturday morning at Fessenden Park, offered by Tenleytown Main Street and the Friends of Fessenden Park, in partnership with: the Center for Mindful Living, CorePower Yoga, Haute Bodhi, and the Washington Yoga Center.
Getting to the park
Fessenden Park is bounded by Wisconsin Avenue, Fessenden St., and 42nd St. The park is equidistance from either the Tenleytown-AU Metro station or the Friendship Heights station, and is located on multiple Metro Bus lines. A Capital Bikeshare station is located at Fessenden Street and Wisconsin Avenue, next to Citibank. Metered street parking is also available.
Inclement weather policy
In the case of rain, the class will be canceled. Registrants will be given credit for a future Get Fit at Fessenden class at the park.
