Protect Alexandria’s Tree Canopy: Remove Invasive Ivy

Some of the mature trees at historic Ivy Hill Cemetery are threatened by invasive ivy climbing up trunks. Help protect these trees on the 22-acre site by volunteering to remove ivy with natural resource managers from Alexandria’s Department of Recrecation, Parks and Cultural Activities and members of Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria. Join us for a morning of service on the holiday that honors the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Tools, gloves and snacks will be provided. There are restrooms onsite. Dress for the weather and wear waterproof footgear.
