Did you know the area south/southwest of Tenley Circle was home to a spy, nuns, a fox hunting club, codebreakers, and an orphanage? Explore Washington’s second oldest village with Tenleytown Historical Society member Farleigh Earhart and learn more about the rich history of our neighborhood.
What are my transportation/parking options getting to the event?
The walking tour will begin and end at the Tenley-Friendship Neighborhood Library, which is conveniently located across from the Tenleytown/AU Metro station on the Red Line. The library is also served by several Metro Bus routes, and a Capital Bikeshare station is located across the street. Participants are encouraged to use public transportation; however, limited parking is available at the library and on Wisconsin Avenue.
What should I bring with me?
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and layers suited to the weather. This tour takes place outside (no building interiors). Walkers are also encouraged to bring a bottle of water with them.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
